Great advice for people. registries can certainly cause problems. One little unknown problem that may cause a windows 7 slow problem is bad sectors on disk. This can be checked by selecting the option where you go to start the defrag. The PC needs to be rebooted to start it. Windows is continually checking the disk and if it hits bad sectors then it will keep retrying to recover them thus slowing things down.
